About
WRITE FROM WHERE IT BURNS A Poetry & Spoken Word Workshop by Soleil A space to write what we usually struggle to say. This immersive poetry workshop invites you to move beyond “good writing” and into something more instinctive, intimate and alive. Through guided writing prompts, music, silence, sensory exercises and spoken word, we explore memory, desire, love, loss, freedom, identity and the stories living underneath our everyday language. You don’t need to be a poet. You don’t even need to know what you want to write about. We begin with a blank page and learn to listen, to an image, a feeling, a memory, a sentence that suddenly appears. From there, we turn fragments into poetry and, for those who wish, bring the words off the page and into the voice. This is not about perfection, grammar or performing beautifully. It is about finding your own language and allowing yourself to be surprised by what comes out. Come with a notebook, an open mind, and something inside you that wants to be written. No previous writing experience required.
