Mascaras con Alma

About

🌀 Are you ready to look at what remains hidden within you? If you haven’t seen this performance yet, this is your opportunity to experience something that transcends the boundaries of conventional theater. A sensory journey into the unconscious, where the repressed emerges, limiting ideas about expression are challenged, and beauty meets madness. An invitation to observe, feel, and integrate what lives in the depths of our being. 🇯🇵 Inspired by Japanese surrealist culture, this performance fuses the aesthetic discipline of Kabuki theater with the transformative power of Butoh dance. 🔥 Following its warm reception at this year’s Situational Festival and the success of its presentation at Sala Mercurio, the cast of La Mágica Presencia returns to the stage with the desire to continue sharing this artistic experience with Mexico. 🌒 SYNOPSIS The spirit of Japanese Kabuki theater symbolically represents the order and beauty that the culture of Nihon offers to consciousness. A Kabuki actor, determined to master his body in search of balance and inner beauty, is challenged by the spirits of Butoh. Little by little, he becomes lost in the fragility of his own performance, haunted by the demons of his unconscious. A surreal work that explores the subtle boundary between madness and order. Butoh destroys in order to transform: the body is freed from its familiar forms and becomes something that no longer belongs to man. 🖤 Come to feel. Come to question. Come to move through the experience. 🙏 Thank you for joining us and sharing your magical presence. ✨ We look forward to seeing you!
